World Obstacle Follows IOC Guidance and Recommendations Regarding the War in Ukraine
With the worsening humanitarian situation in Ukraine and the breach of the Olympic Truce by the Russian government and the government of Belarus through its support, the World Obstacle Central Board made the following decisions during an emergency meeting today:
- Condemn the breach of the Olympic Truce by the governments of Russia and Belarus.
- Express its full support of the people of Ukraine and the obstacle sports communities in Ukraine.
- Provide humanitarian assistance where possible.
- Adopt the IOC Executive Board recommendation not to allow the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials in international competitions, to protect the integrity of the sport, and for the safety of all the participants.
